Changes coming for grant application revision resources

The Peer Review and Mentoring Committees (PRMC) created by IU School of Medicine and administered through the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute will be sunsetting in its current form at the end of September 2022.

The committees were designed to help researchers with grant resubmissions. Specifically, the PRMC focused on grants that received a score but needed help in revising the application prior to submitting again as either a resubmission or a new proposal. The resources available to the investigator included mentoring, grantsmanship, biostatistics consultation, project management and small pilot funds, if needed.

While the PRMC will no longer be available as a resource, there are still several ways for researchers to get support with their grant submissions. Indiana CTSI Project Development Teams (PDTs) will continue to offer access to experts who can help implement high-quality pilot projects that generate successful external grant submissions. Additionally, the office of the executive associate dean for research is providing support for collaborative National Institutes of Health grants, including program project grants (P01s), center grants (P30s) and research program cooperative agreements (U19s) for full-time academic IU School of Medicine faculty.
