Charissa M. Carroll, MD, MS

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 1
Southern University

Greetings! My name is Charissa Carroll. I have lived in multiple different cities and states so I can’t choose just one to call home. Though I am partial to Louisiana where I finished High School at Pineville High School and earned a BS and MS at the Southern University and A&M College! I am a first-generation college and medical school graduate who loves to mentor others in ways I didn’t have along the journey.

In my free time, I love a good puzzle, book, or K-Drama to destress! Also, I haven’t met a musical I don’t like!

I decided on family medicine because it is the only specialty that allows you to provide care for the entire family "from womb to tomb" as family medicine people say! Family dynamics are so important to understanding the whole person and their health. In addition, I have a passion for women’s reproductive health and obstetrics. I desire to help decrease the maternal mortality rate especially within the Black community.

That desire to pursue obstetrical care along with family medicine is one of the top reasons I choose IU School of Medicine for my training. Ball Memorial being a Maternal Care Access Hospital and housing a Level III NICU allowed me to see that training here would be top tier!  I can’t forget to mention the breadth of other procedural training available to ensure residents are ready to practice full-spectrum family medicine.

I am excited to join the IU School of Medicine and Ball Memorial family and work with such amazing people who are the icing on the cake of the program!

I am no stranger to Muncie as I graduated from Ball State University and worked at Ball Memorial Hospital during that time. After completing medical school in West Virginia I am so happy to be returning to Ball Memorial Hospital!

I look forward to getting to know my patients, learning from them and helping them achieve the health care goals that we set together.

My current medical interests include emergency medicine, geriatrics and palliative care.

When I am not working I am most likely spending time with friends and family, most likely my partner Katt and our dog Pickle!

Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Hello! My name is Andrew Garrett, and I was born and raised in Indiana. I attended Ball State for undergrad and went to medical school at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis.

I chose the Family Medicine Residency at Ball Memorial Hospital for many reasons. Everyone within the program and at the residency clinic is so welcoming and genuine. It's obvious that the culture is healthy and one that allows residents to grow as physicians and people. The residency also allows for a wide range of training in all aspects of family medicine along with the ability for extensive procedural training.  On top of all of this, there is also an emphasis on resident well being and their families. For these reasons and many more, IU School of Medicine was an obvious choice for me. I am excited for this opportunity!

Outside of medicine, I am an avid sports fan. I am a huge Pacers fan and Notre Dame football fan. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball and golf, thrift shopping, vacationing, trying new places to eat and spending time with my family, friends and girlfriend!

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 1
Un of Pikeville, Kentucky Col of Osteopathic Med

Hello! I grew up in Peoria, Illinois. I attended medical school in Pikeville, Kentucky. I have enjoyed my experience learning medicine and I’m excited to be here in Muncie, Indiana to treat and learn from all my patients. I have quickly realized that I need to become much more versed in basketball if I ever want to truly connect with the people of Indiana, so that has been on my to-do list!

I grew up on a small farm in Peoria, Illinois riding horses and feeding our chickens. I’ve always been interested in biology and have loved talking to people and hearing their stories. When I went to college, becoming a family doctor seemed to be a perfect profession to put both of those passions into practice.

Currently, its just me and my cat on this journey together. When I make trips back home to Peoria, you can find me in a freshly plowed field or a creek looking for Native American artifacts or at a museum! Fun facts about history in my clinic are always welcome! I’m so grateful to be here in this city and I’m looking forward to meeting the people of Muncie!

Lindsay G. Pattison, DO

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 1
West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine

Hello! I am excited to start my residency journey at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and IU School of Medicine. I knew early on in my life that I wanted to be a physician and family medicine was always special to me even before attending medical school. I worked as a scribe with family medicine physicians that did full spectrum care including home visits, OB, procedures, geriatrics, addiction medicine, pediatrics and more. I loved this model of having life-long relationships with patients and variability in career choices and patient populations.

I grew up in Rochester, NY for most of my life, but moved to Pennsylvania to get my bachelor’s in biochemistry at Westminster College. I attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine as I knew I wanted to focus on primary care and underserved populations. I was brought to Indiana due to my interests in full spectrum family medicine including obstetrics and hands-on procedures.

Outside of medicine, I spend time with my family including my husband and two pugs. I love hiking, traveling, eating at local Muncie restaurants, baking desserts, reading for fun and binge watching shows.

I am so excited to be starting my residency journey and meeting my new patients as well as my future coworkers.

67753-Qureshi, Manal

Manal F. Qureshi, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 1
Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine

Hello! My name is Manal Qureshi and I am from Cleveland, Ohio. I received my bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University in psychology. My undergraduate experiences inspired a passion for understanding human behavior and addressing community health disparities, so I enrolled in the Urban Health Program jointly offered by Cleveland State University and Northeast Ohio Medical University (CSU-NEOMED).

Throughout medical school, I developed a keen interest in women's health, behavioral health and underserved medicine, driven by a commitment to improving health care access and outcomes for marginalized populations. I am particularly dedicated to integrating mental health support into primary care and advocating for comprehensive health care solutions for my patients.

Beyond medicine, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends as well as cooking, swimming, roller blading and dancing as ways to stay active and engaged. My creative talents extend to clothing and interior design, reflecting a love for aesthetics and innovation. I also cherish travel experiences and find joy in planning and hosting memorable gatherings for loved ones.

With a holistic approach to patient care and a multifaceted skill set, I look forward to contributing to the family medicine residency program at Ball Memorial where I can continue to grow as a compassionate practitioner dedicated to serving diverse communities.

67754-Southwick, Derek

Derek B. Southwick, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 1
University of Washington School of Medicine

Saludos! My name is Derek Southwick. I am a resident physician here at Ball Memorial Hospital. My wife and I are excited to join the wonderful community here in Muncie. We are blessed with two beautiful children who keep us on our toes.

I grew up in Idaho, which means I’m now trading a life of potatoes for corn. After high school, I left on a two-year proselyting mission to the Dominican Republic where I became fluent in Spanish. I earned my bachelor’s degree in biomedical science with a minor in chemistry from BYU Idaho where I developed and nurtured a passion for science. Afterwords, I studied medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, earning my doctorate in medicine and applying my passion for science towards family medicine. I especially love taking care of the whole family from babies to elderly.

Another major interest of mine is leadership and policy making within health care. I’m currently finishing my elected term as the Student Delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians Congress of Delegates. As a delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates, I represent the interests and opinions of all 37,900 medical student members nationwide to the governing body of the AAFP, the Congress of Delegates. In addition, I serve on the AAFP commission of education.

I continue to be very active in the medical community. I cofounded the Idaho Language Access Project to protect the rights of patients with limited English proficiency. One of my yearly joys is to represent my community by traveling to Washington, DC with the AMA to discuss the health care policy with US legislators.

In my “spare time,” if I’m not busy juggling being a husband, father, doctor, representative or advocate, I will be found tutoring physician assistant and medical students. Outside of medicine, my interests include pickleball, hiking, skiing and DIY home improvements.

Indiana University School of Medicine

Hello! My name is Kelsey West and I grew up in Springport, Indiana, a small town about 20 minutes south of Muncie. I pursued my undergraduate education at Ball State University and then continued my medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine’s Muncie campus. It was during my time in Muncie that I discovered my passion for family medicine. Driven by a desire for comprehensive patient care, I chose to stay in the region for my residency with the Family Medicine Residency at Ball Memorial Hospital.

During medical school, I developed a keen interest in global health, which I actively cultivated through service to underserved communities in Indiana and a transformative two-month rotation in Kenya. I am committed to integrating global health principles into my practice, whether locally or abroad.

Outside of medicine, I find joy in spending time with family, hiking, boating, indulging in good coffee and reading. I also enjoy staying active through tennis and golf. I’m excited to be part of the Ball Memorial Hospital family and look forward to meeting you!

Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Hello! I grew up in a farming town outside of Lansing Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan with the intent of going to medical school, however life took me on another path for a time and I moved to Indiana instead. I returned to my medical interest after my own family experienced a medical need that wasn’t able to be cured by the medical knowledge in practice at the time. I devoted myself to figuring out how to heal my family and developed a deep passion for nutrition and what is now called “Lifestyle Medicine” along the way.

Fast forward 15 years, my children are both grown and thriving, I have graduated from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and am here at the Family Medicine Residency at Ball Memorial Hospital starting my new career! I am so excited to be part of this program and have a deep passion to share all the knowledge I have learned as well as continue to grow through this amazing program and YOU our patients!

I am a self-proclaimed foodie and I enjoy the challenge of improving the nutrition of food without compromising the taste… food should be delicious! I enjoy audiobooks in general and podcasts on health topics. I love the outdoors and take my dog Gus on walks, enjoy hiking the National Parks and returning to Michigan every summer for lake and family time.

I believe in walking alongside my patients as we work together towards their health goals. If you are interested in learning more about your body and how to improve your health, let’s talk. I look forward to meeting you at the clinic!

Natassja M. Davis, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 2
Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine

Hello! I am Natassja Davis, a family medicine resident and Georgia native. I am not new to the state of Indiana, however. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion with a degree in biology. After graduation, I returned to Georgia for medical school at Augusta University. After four years of longing for the midwestern summer breeze, my two daughters, husband, and I returned to Indiana for residency. Family medicine has always been the specialty I coveted because I want to provide comprehensive care in a rural community. So, I applied to the residency at Ball Memorial Hospital because there is no greater place for holistic medical care. Ball Memorial infuses modern and traditional approaches, allowing everyone to receive the care they want and need. The staff and fellow residents ensure that a day doesn’t go by without sharing a smile. It is truly a great place to work.

When I am not spending time with and caring for my family, I catch up on my sleep. I also enjoy playing pickleball, watching movies, playing and watching sports, reading new books and listening to podcasts. I am excited about training at Ball Memorial Hospital.

64499-Eaton, Amanda

Amanda M. Eaton, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 2
Un of Missouri, Columbia School of Medicine

Hello! My name is Amanda Eaton and I’m from Columbia, MO, a college town in Central Missouri. Growing up, I enjoyed playing the piano and trombone and was heavily involved in band and musical activities. I began my studies at the University of Missouri as an animal science major with plans to become a veterinarian, but halfway through college I decided to pursue human medicine after working as a volunteer in the NICU at my local hospital and seeing the incredible transformation of premature babies as they grew and were eventually able to leave the hospital. Prior to medical school I spent several months immersed in rural Peru, and developed a love for the Spanish language and a passion for global health and improving access to care for Spanish-speaking patients both at home and abroad.

I began medical school at the University of Missouri thinking that I would end up in pediatrics, but discovered that I also loved women’s health and obstetrics. During my rotation at a rural family medicine clinic in Southern Missouri, I realized that full-spectrum family medicine was the perfect way to combine these interests while providing the unique opportunity to care for entire families and build relationships and trust with my patients over the course of their lives. It quickly became clear to me that family medicine was where I belonged!

I chose Ball Memorial Hospital because I felt that the full-spectrum training here would provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to best serve the diverse needs of my future patients, whether that’s in the rural Midwest, the mountains of Peru, or wherever my future career may take me. I knew that the welcoming and supportive culture would be the perfect environment to continue my training, and I’m so excited to join the Ball Memorial Hospital family medicine family!

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew and cuddling with my cat Idina. I am a big fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Mizzou football! I love musical theater and enjoy attending concerts and Broadway shows whenever I can. I also love to travel, and my goal is to visit every state in the US and every country in Central and South America.

Andrew Gerard, MD

Hello! My name is Drew Gerard. I have been fortunate to call Indiana home all my life. I grew up in Plymouth, Indiana. After high school, I was accepted into the B/MD Rural Health Program at Indiana State University (Go Trees) in Terre Haute (aka Terredise), Indiana. There I studied biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish. Indiana State is also where I met my best friend and wife, Emily. From there, I continued my medical education at the Terre Haute campus of Indiana University School of Medicine.

Becoming a family doctor has been a dream of mine since I was in 4th grade. I desire to be the rural go-to full-spectrum doctor for anything and everything. My interests include OB and C-sections, endoscopy, wound care, dermoscopy, rural health and global health. I chose Ball Memorial Hospital because of the robust training in procedures, broad-spectrum training, service to the community and the world, and the incredible family-like culture within the residency. The possibilities are seemingly endless.

Outside of medicine, I love spending time with my wife and our dog Peaches. Other hobbies include exploring the outdoors, sports (especially racquetball and pickleball), painting and board games with friends. If you have any questions about the residency, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Hello! My name is Brian Harris, and I am originally from Yuma, Arizona. Before attending medical school at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, I graduated from Brigham Young University with my undergraduate degree in finance. I met my wife, Evelyn, during my third year of medical school.

I chose IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for several reasons. While I am excited for all the opportunities available here, I also loved the environment and people I met during interviews. I loved the support present for families and the emphasis placed on the wellbeing of both resident and spouse. I was also impressed by the genuine kindness of the faculty. After residency, I hope to live in a rural community where I can impact the lives of my patients in as many ways is possible. I am interested in practicing full-spectrum family medicine, including surgical obstetrics and OMT.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing basketball, pickleball, watching movies and reality TV, watching sports, and spending time with my family. I am excited to explore Indiana, and I look forward to the adventures we will have during our time here!

Kaden B. Jordan, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 2
University of Utah School of Medicine

Hello! My name is Kaden Jordan. I grew up in St. George, Utah. I attended undergrad there at Utah Tech University studying biomedical sciences. I married my high school crush, and we have three children!

We then moved to Salt Lake City Utah to start medical school at the University of Utah. There I was part of a pilot program for a longitudinal clerkship focused on urban underserved populations. I was able to follow the same patients from my 3rd year of medical school into my 4th. During that time, I really began to appreciate what family medicine was and the continuity and relationships you can build with your patients. I am passionate about serving underserved communities and advocating for patients and their healthcare needs.

I am so excited to be at Ball Memorial to continue my education and feel it is a great fit to meet my goals of serving underserved populations.

Outside of medicine I enjoy spending time with my family doing hikes, paddle boarding, or anything outdoors really!

Colin J. Kemker, MD

Family Medicine (Muncie), PGY 2
Indiana University School of Medicine

Greetings! I am Dr. Colin Kemker, a physician who proudly hails from the small Southern Indiana town of Salem. As a second-generation physician, I was raised by two family medicine doctors who provided a wide range of care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Their diverse skill sets and the profound impact they had on our community inspired me to follow in their footsteps and deliver full-spectrum primary care to a rural region near my hometown.

My journey towards becoming a physician began with my undergraduate studies at Indiana University Southeast, where I earned a bachelor's degree in science. I then pursued my medical education at IU School of Medicine, graduating in 2023 with a medical degree.

What draws me to family medicine is its breadth of training, enabling me to embrace a variety of responsibilities and roles within a rural underserved community. I am passionate about providing primary care services to individuals of all ages and also aspire to offer colonoscopy screening services to my region. Additionally, I am keen on contributing to acute care settings like the emergency department and the hospital whenever my community needs it.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in weightlifting and playing the trumpet, both of which serve as outlets for relaxation and self-expression. However, my greatest source of happiness lies in spending quality time with my family, who have shaped my values and supported my journey.

I am driven by a genuine commitment to rural healthcare and a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my patients. I look forward to developing and honing the skills I need to fulfill this commitment through the comprehensive training offered by the IU Health Ball Memorial Family Medicine residency program.

In my free time, my husband and I love to watch movies, go grocery shopping, go to the Fashion Mall, and see our families.

After Residency I plan to stay in Indiana and practice in Anderson or Pendleton. Family medicine provides a wide array of cases and relationships with patients, which is why I was drawn to the specialty. I chose Ball Memorial for the opportunity to learn and practice full spectrum family medicine.

portrait of zev allen

Zev Allen, MD

Hello, Zev Allen here!! I am from the rural town of Soldier, KS. I grew up on a family farm, raising cattle and attending the Jackson Heights School District with my five siblings. There I ran track & cross country, participated in musical activities, and enjoyed community gatherings!!

I studied Life-Science at Kansas State University, where I was heavily involved with hunger initiatives addressing food insecurity among undergraduate students. During the summers between academic years, I found a passion for community development and public policy. During the summer months, I developed programs for a non-profit I helped start focusing on rural revitalization.

I entered medical school at the University of Kansas following my time at KSU. I enjoyed my rural experiences and was particularly impressed by the scope of practice afforded the full-spectrum Family Medicine Physicians. I admired their ability to enhance equity of care through access to healthcare services and appreciated the challenges they had to overcome in rural spaces. Seeing these challenges within our healthcare setting during clinical experiences inspired me to pursue a Master's in Public Health from Dartmouth College. During this time, I developed research that evaluated state changes' impacts on policy regulating telehealth during the pandemic.

When I started my search for residency training, I was looking for a place that would equip me to meet the needs of rural communities and further my ability to address the problems facing our healthcare system. Indiana University Health at Ball Memorial Hospital provides that unique type of training. They have the academic affiliation that will further my ability to generate research fit for policy endeavors while providing that robust training necessary to be a truly full-spectrum Family Physician. I can't wait to get started and encourage anyone interested to reach out with questions about why I chose the Ball Memorial Family!!

Interests: I love biking, reading, listening to podcasts, painting, and enjoying a dinner and drinks with friends!

portrait of crull

Tim Crull, MD

Hi There! My name is Tim Crull, and I'm so glad you stopped by the IUH Ball Memorial Family Medicine Residency website to learn about just a few of the people who make this residency so special. I am a Muncie native, born at IUH Ball Memorial Hospital, and I have lived nearly my whole life in the Muncie community. I attended Yorktown High School and, after that, Ball State University for my undergraduate studies. After college, I was fortunate to stay local at IU School of Medicine's regional campus in Muncie. I spent my first three years of medical school at the regional Muncie campus but moved to Indianapolis for my final year. I am grateful to be coming home to continue my training with this highly respected residency program. During my 3rd and 4th years of medical school, I spent a great deal of time with the residents and faculty of this program. I was treated with respect and kindness, like an equal and not a student. I was so impressed with the character of the people that work here. I knew that this would be a great place to train. Interviewing for residency during my final year of medical school, whenever I mentioned I was from Muncie, physicians at other programs across the country would usually respond, "Oh yeah, Muncie! I've heard they have a great family medicine residency there!" These remarks made my decision to choose this program a no-brainer! I hope that the same qualities and character of the people here that so impressed me and gave this residency national renown will provide you with confidence as you seek quality healthcare.

Aside from medicine, in my free time, I enjoy being active. I love to exercise (resistance training, walking, running, etc.) and play recreational sports such as basketball and soccer. I enjoy reading nonfiction, drinking coffee, and hammocking (if the weather is nice enough, I do all three of those simultaneously). I also enjoy watching and cheering on my favorite sports teams (Go Pacers! Go Colts!) Again, thank you for stopping by. We are so glad you're here!

portrait of hinton

Michael Hinton, MD

Hello, my name is Michael Hinton. I was born in Indianapolis and grew up in Greenwood, Indiana. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics at Indiana University. I then completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. During medical school, I enjoyed aspects of all my clinical rotations but found speaking with patients, establishing a rapport, educating them on their illnesses, and developing a treatment plan for their long-term health the most fulfilling, so I pursued a residency in Family Medicine. My other interests in medicine include preventative medicine and sports medicine. I am very excited to continue my training at IUH Ball Memorial.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy exercising, watching/attending sporting events (Colts, IU basketball, IU football, Yankees), reading, listening to podcasts, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dog Tyson.

portrait of jadyn mangen

Jadyn Mangen, DO

Hi there! My name is Jadyn! I was born and raised in Versailles, Ohio, a small town near the Ohio-Indiana border about an hour from Muncie. I married my high school sweetheart, Matt, four years ago, and we are welcoming our first child this April! Outside of medicine, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking our dog, Molly, traveling and taking camping trips, bike rides, home improvement projects, cooking, baking, gardening, reading, and occasionally binging Netflix.

I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience at Wright State University in Dayton and went on to attend Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine for my medical degree. Throughout these years, my passion for family medicine and serving underserved communities flourished. I fell in love with family medicine because of the longitudinal relationships, community engagement, and scope of practice. Within primary care, I am particularly interested in chronic disease management, prenatal and postpartum care, newborn care, geriatrics, behavioral health, social determinants of health, patient education, and health literacy. My future career goals include working at an FQHC in my home community where I can practice full spectrum family medicine. I chose Ball Memorial for my residency training because of the supportive environment, ability to be challenged, and the programs commitment to preparing physicians for full scope practices upon graduation. I am so excited to be joining the Ball Memorial Family!

portrait of mann

Erica Mann, DO

Welcome to Ball! My name is Erica Mann, and I would love to share a bit of the journey that led me here. I grew up an Army kid, born in Germany. We moved all over the US and Europe, but I ended up in Alabama, where I graduated high school and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). I earned my BS in biology and MPH in global maternal and child health before moving to Haiti, where I served in a rural clinic for six months. When I returned, I attended the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) and continued to engage in issues of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and local and global health disparities.

Outside of academic and professional pursuits, you can usually find me with my local church's children and youth ministries, back in Alabama, enjoying my family or in the kitchen cooking and baking. I might also be out for a run, tucked away at home painting, or enjoying a good book in a soft chair with a warm cup of tea. But no matter where you find me, you are welcome to join me!

I chose Ball for my next step because I believed it would equip me for my somewhat unconventional career goals. I knew I needed solid training across a broad scope to pursue international medicine. I needed strong OB and procedural training and opportunities to engage locally and internationally at the community level. Ball promised both a strong foundation and the flexibility to tailor my training toward my practice. I hope you will consider how Ball might fit into your plans!

Hi! My name is Tiffany. I was born in Akron, Ohio, but was raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia. As a child, I lived in Seoul, South Korea, for four years, which was a memorable experience.

I studied Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA. After graduation, I worked as a Phlebotomist at Mary Washington Hospital for a year; then joined AmeriCorps, providing financial health literacy to the local community and working at an HIV clinic. Afterward, I attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. I hope to work in underserved communities providing quality healthcare that I believe everyone deserves.

Outside of medicine, my interests include traveling, roller skating, reading, and learning about entrepreneurship.

Brooke Strader, MD

Hello! My name is Brooke, and I grew up in Noblesville, Indiana. I studied Biology and Psychology at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Between working in a research lab as a pharmacy technician and embarking on my Guatemalan service trip, I knew medicine was my career path. I wanted to be able to walk through different parts of life with patients as an educator.

I went to Indiana University School of Medicine and spent all four years at the Muncie campus. The campus fostered an unparalleled experiential learning environment, allowing me to have an extremely hands-on education with passionate teachers despite the challenge posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I grew my passion and clinical interests in teaching, working with underserved populations, and working with healthcare disparities through many local projects. I am so excited to be able to continue training at Ball Memorial Hospital at the Family Medicine Residency! I love Ball's full-spectrum training, along with options for global health experiences and many other electives.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nick, and our dog, Xavier. We enjoy hiking and being outside together. I also enjoy baking, reading, doing puzzles, and watching my younger brother's sporting events.

portrait of vaughn

Luke Vaughn, MD

Hi there, my name is Luke Vaughn. I grew up in Pendleton, Indiana, and first came to Muncie to attend Ball State University (CHIRP CHIRP!). I received my Undergrad in Biology and my Master's in Human Physiology. Before attending medical school in Muncie, I worked as a medical scribe at IU Ball Memorial.

Since I started medical school, I have been dedicated to serving east-central Indiana as a primary care provider. Joining the Ball Family Medicine Residency Clinic is a dream come true. IU Health Ball was an easy choice for me as the wide breadth of learning opportunities was perfect for cultivating my future practice in medicine. I have loved getting to know the area, the medical providers, and especially the people over the past ten years. I am excited to continue to grow those relationships and serve this community!

When I am not in the clinic, I love spending time with my wife, Emily, and our children, Elodie and David. Our favorite things are going on hikes, making crafts, baking, and playing games. My biggest personal hobby as of late is learning to play chess.
