Clinical Care

The Department of Medicine Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana Institute for Personalized Medicine are leading the implementation of genomically guided therapeutic dosing and selection through the school's clinical partnership with IU Health. This initiative includes educating physicians and service line providers about common medicines that are impacted by patients’ genetics, developing and offering CLIA testing in collaboration with the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics  and setting up alerts within the IU Health computer system to advise physicians of potential pharmacogenomic interactions.

The division also staffs a monthly Precision Medicine Clinic at IU Health for patients experiencing adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions, and conducts and interprets pharmacogenomics tests.
