The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology uses the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for fellowship candidate selections, and all positions are offered through the National Residency Matching Program. Selected candidates are invited to the IU School of Medicine–Indianapolis campus for interviews, which are held in September for positions beginning on July 1 of the following year. However, given the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be conducting remote interviews this year.
The division typically supports five fellowship positions each year. All applicants must be enrolled or have completed an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program. The Gastroenterology Fellowship Program sponsors J1 Visas; however, it may extend to H1-B Visas on a case-by-case basis if the applicant is already initiated by other sponsors.
