    The Data Analyst role will focus on core data management services for the interdisciplinary research team directed by Dr. Sarah Wiehe at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). Under her direction are several related initiatives that are central to her extramurally-funded grant portfolio as part of IUSM and to her Co-Director role as part of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI). Their general responsibilities will include performing small animal murine husbandry, surgery, vascular fixation of the lung, and in-vivo measurements of pulmonary function using the Flexi vent system; performing fixation and histological staining of lung tissue, and quantification of lung tissue using ImageJ software; performing other procedures such as micro-CT imaging and software quantification, as well as single cell and nuclear isolation of lung tissues for RNA-seq analysis.

  • Research Technician (Pediatric Infectious Disease Research)

    This research technician position will assist Principal Investigator Dr. Dibyadyuti Datta within the Wells Center for Pediatric Research, Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health. The Datta Lab conducts research on biomarkers and mechanisms underlying brain injury in severe malaria and traumatic brain injury. Laboratory-based research is conducted at IUSM in Indianapolis. Clinical research studies are ongoing in Uganda. Research profile of the lab includes parasite culture, stem cell culture, microscopy immunofluorescence imaging, western blot, flow cytometry, single-analyte and bead-based multiplex ELISA testing for protein biomarkers, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, and genotyping. Potential for future research using experimental mouse models of malaria.
