Medical scientists affiliated with the Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health, located at IU School of Medicine–Indianapolis, focus on the discovery and development of new treatments, cures, diagnostic tools, new technologies and preventative strategies to address the increasing burden of musculoskeletal diseases and disorders of bone, muscle, tendon, ligament and cartilage affecting patients of all ages. Faculty investigators from three Indiana University campuses, eight schools, and 19 academic departments who share an interest in bone and muscle research collaborate at the Center for Musculoskeletal Health to address the unknowns and issues of musculoskeletal diseases and disorders.
Center Director
Lynda Bonewald, PhD, was selected by the Indiana University School of Medicine to build the Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health (ICMH) in 2016. Bonewald has a history in musculoskeletal research, having studied bone with a focus on osteocyte biology for more than 30 years. She has developed a 10-year strategic plan for the Center to advance musculoskeletal research leading to improved treatment of patients with musculoskeletal diseases and disorders.
